The RCIS is designed to resist extreme environmental conditions for critical infrastructure, industry, security and outdoor applications: Fully ruggedized electronics is embedded in a hermetically sealed, precision milled aluminum housing with IP67-graded connectors. RCIS withstands severest outdoor and industrial conditions, including intensive water exposure, dust, extreme temperatures, shock and vibration.
The RCIS guarantees its performance within extended hot and cold temperatures. Due to its fanless design without moving parts no maintenance is required over the whole life-cycle. All electronic components and parts are selected and manufactured according to highest industrial quality standards, which results in unmatched overall reliability.
RCIS provides high speed Gigabit Ethernet switching capacity for demanding IoT applications including 5G mobile networks, WiFi 6 access points, high resolution cameras or displays for smart signing and advertisement. RCIS is configurable with:

4x 1 Gbit/s application ports
Each application port supports PoE+ and can be configured as logically seperated network.
RCIS provides data connection and power supply for the application with one wire to minimize installation effort. Each RCIS application port supplies 1 Gbit/s data rate and DC power according to PoE+ (IEEE 802.3 at) with an M12 X-coded fully sealed connector. The DC power is reliably transformed by the RCIS internal power converter from a wide AC input range (90 – 264 VAC).
RCIS has a compact size and fits through standard lamp post openings. It comes with a mounting provision, which allows a “one-click” installation. All connectors have simple coupling with standard tools. RCIS has status LEDs on its front. Internal and external manipulation detection provide reliable life-time condition information.
RCIS is built on Cisco embedded hardware and software. Therefore RCIS provisioning is fully automated with a zero-touch deployment. It prevents mistakes by automated configurations and has an easy-to-use WEB UI and familiar Cisco CLI. RCIS seamlessly integrates in Cisco DNA Center infrastructure and operations. Hence, RCIS supports policy based operations, cloud serivce management virtualisation and full SD-WAN compliance.
